Slinger, Wis., May 2—Eric Fransen wore out the competition Sunday afternoon at the Slinger Super Speedway, driving to a convincing win in the season-opening Miller Lite 120 over Lowell Bennett and Dennis Prunty.

“The car was so good today,” Fransen stated afterwards, “I was just able to save the tires for the final laps and then I was on Cruise Control.”

Miller Lite 120 Season Opener

(Slinger, WI) Slinger Speedway staff, race teams, and fans will be remembering Nate Strobel this Sunday afternoon with a race named after him, The Nate Strobel 25. The top five finishers in The Nate Strobel 25 will be awarded special trophies sponsored by DeAngelis Construction and Bonifide Security Solutions. The Slinger Bee Feature race will be extended to 25 laps in honor of Nate.

(Slinger, WI) April 22, 2010 – The 63rd Season for Slinger Speedway kick’s off Sunday afternoon May 2nd with the Miller Lite 120 Spring Opener.  Super Late Models will headline the event joined by Late Models, Midwest Sportsman, Thunderstock, Slinger Bee’s, Figure 8’s, and Westbury Bank Speedway Guest Cars.  Qualifying will start at Noon and racing at 2:00 pm.
 


Racing Kickoff Party. Saturday, April 24th at Dino'z (Gregg Pawelski's bar - Gregg runs the #7 Sportsman). Dino'z is located at 5018 W State St, Milwaukee. DJ Lenny will provide the music plus there will be $5.50 pitchers, $2 domestic bottles of beer, and $4 tall Captain & cokes. Flip Cup and Beer Pong are likely, and there is a possibility of a racing trivia competition between race teams - or some other type of "contest" for prizes. Slinger Pre-Season Party

(Slinger, WI) The NEW Xtra Laps Radio Show and Slinger Speedway pre-season kickoff party will get the 2010 season going 6 pm, April 21 at the Mineshaft in Hartford. Xtra Laps, a radio show dedicated to local racing and the stories behind the drivers will be broadcast live from the Mineshaft on 92.5 FM WBWI. Dangerous Dan Margetta and John Wiedmann will co-host Xtra Laps each Wednesday from 6pm – 7pm throughout the race season.

(Slinger, WI) Slinger Speedway understands folks may be a little tight on cash so we are going to give our fans the opportunity to buy $10 tickets to regular Sunday races this season at Slinger Speedway. The $10 tickets are only for sale on line and must be purchased 10 at a time, it’s that simple. The tickets can be used for any regular Sunday race (excluding our special fireworks races and Miller Lite Slinger Nationals).

(Slinger, WI) 2009 Season In Review: The Midwest Sportsman has relatively few tracks that the cars run on a weekly basis. The Slinger Super Speedway is one of those tracks, and every week this division puts on an exciting show. A total of thirty five drivers took to the high banks in 2009, and by season’s end there was a first time champion in Mike Borchardt Jr.

(Slinger, WI) January 9, 2009 - The 2009 Slinger Super Speedway awards banquet was held on January 9th at the Chandelier Ballroom in Hartford, Wisconsin. Fellow drivers, crews, fans, and track staff all turned out to honor the champions of each division for the 2009 season. An early cocktail party followed by a catered dinner by Leroy Meats of Horicon, set the stage for the night’s festivities.


By now you have probably heard that Dan Jung fell off a ladder while working on his home. He is currently at Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee with a fractured neck and broken collar bone. His recovery will be a long process but Dan is not one to lay down and let this get the best of him. Dan has raced at Slinger, and most other area tracks and is very actively involved in the Memorial Go-Karts at Slinger Speedway--mentoring the Orange Crush team. A fund-raiser to help with Dan's loss of income and additional expenses has been planned, here are the details:
