(Slinger, WI) The second leg of the Pepsi Challenge Series awaits super late model competitors, this Sunday night, July 6, at the Slinger Super Speedway. World Finance Corporation presents the night’s racing action. In addition to season-long championship points, drivers will be competing for the overall crown of the three-race Pepsi Challenge Series.
In addition to being crowned the 2013 Slinger Super Speedway super late model track champion, Steve Apel has captured the last two Pepsi Challenge Series championships.
Rain washed away the majority of the events on the first round of the Pepsi Challenge Series, meaning all drivers in attendance were awarded 25 appearance points.
The super late models will be joined on Sunday night by a full program for the late models, Area Sportsman, Slinger bees, figure 8’s and the second scheduled appearance of the American Super Cup cars.
In addition, the crown of 2014 Miss Slinger Super Speedway will be decided. The winning lady will be awarded $1000 and wear the crown for one year. The runner-up will receive $300 with the third place contestant awarded $200.
Gates open Sunday night at 4:30 p.m. with qualifying scheduled for 5:00. Opening ceremonies are set for 6:30 with racing to follow.
Fans can save money by purchasing their admission tickets in advance at B&S Liquor (Hwy 83 Hartford); Pioneer Plaza (Hwy 41 Richfield); Schaefer’s BP (Hwy 60 Slinger); Addison Station (Hwy 41 & K) or Chill-n-Fill (downtown Slinger).
