(Slinger, WI)—The new Badgerland Challenge Series will crown the King of the High Banks, Sunday night, July 12, at the Slinger Super Speedway as the series headlines the Prelude to the Nationals.

Two divisions make up the new traveling Badgerland challenge Series: Late Models and Area Sportsman. Each division will compete for Slinger weekly points as well as Badgerland Challenge Series points. In addition, the winner of the Late Model feature will be crowned King of the High Banks.

Both late models and area sportsman compete weekly at Slinger Speedway, but Sunday night’s event promises to bring fresh faces to the Slinger high-banks, including drivers from Central Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.

After making their Slinger Super Speedway debut last year, the Mid-American Stock Car Series returns, Sunday night. Home track driver Jeff Holtz used his Slinger experience to drive to the Mid-American Series win in 2014. The Mid-American Series rules are used in the tracks Midwest Sportsman division, keeping with the theme of pitting the best Slinger drivers against the best touring drivers.

Sunday night’s Prelude to the Nationals sets the stage for Tuesday night, July 14, and the 36th annual running of the Super Seal Slinger Nationals, presented by Miller Lite. The Slinger Nationals is one of short-track racings crown jewels.

The Heros Sandwich Shoppe Slinger bees and figure 8’s will join the Badgerland Challenge Series Late Models and Area Sportsman and Mid-American Stock Car Series on the card Sunday night.

Gates open Sunday evening at 4:45 p.m. with qualifying at 5:00. Opening ceremonies are set for 6:30 with racing to follow.
