SlamFest and Triple Challenge Series Championship Round up Next

Double-Header Weekend Features Destruction and Racing

(Slinger, WI) Smashing, bashing, wrecking and flipping highlight the annual Schaefer’s BP SlamFest, Saturday night, August 19, at the Slinger Super Speedway and ushers in an action packed, double-header weekend at the world’s fastest high-banked quarter-mile oval.

Among others, the popular SlamFest features a roll over contest; back up, chain and ski races, school bus figure 8 races and the figure 8 trailer race of destruction.

SlamFest has traditionally been one of the most well attended events on the Slinger Super Speedway calendar. General admission tickets are sold on a first-come-first-serve basis while a limited number of reserved seats remain.

Gates open Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. with the show beginning at 6:30. SlamFest features an August 26 rain date.

On Sunday night, August 20, the on-track focus turns to super late model racing as Pepsi presents the Championship Round of the Triple Challenge. The three-race mini-series features a separate point standings and title.

“Everybody focuses on winning the season-long championship,” said Gary LaMonte. “We also want to win the track championship, but this past off-season, we paid extra attention to the Triple Challenge.” Heading in to the final race of the Triple Challenge, LaMonte leads the three race series points.

On Sunday night, the super late models will be joined by a full program of area sportsman, Slinger bees, super beez and figure 8’s.

Gates open Sunday evening at 4:45 p.m. with qualifying at 5:00. Opening ceremonies are set for 6:30 with racing to follow.

As the track continues to celebrate its 70th season, anyone born in 1948 or earlier will be admitted free, Sunday night. The track also welcomes back any former Slinger Speedway driver, with free admission and inducts another class into their popular Wall of Fame.
