Three Will Battle for Super Late Model Title in Final Sunday Night Event

Fireworks Part of Labor Day Weekend Tradition

(Slinger, WI) For the top three title hopefuls, it all comes down to one final night to determine the track championship in the super late model division, Sunday night, September 3, at the Slinger Super Speedway.

Three-time Slinger super late model titlist Steve Apel leads Alex Prunty by five markers and last week’s feature winner, Gary LaMonte by 18 points. For both Prunty and LaMonte, a super late model championship would be their first.

“We’ll keep rolling and keep digging as we’ve been in this position before,” said Apel referring to the championship battle. “It seems like I’ve had a target on my back the last couple of years and we just need to come out Sunday and be a little bit stronger.”

The super late models will duke it out in a 100-lap feature, the longest point night race of the season. In addition, the holiday weekend event will treat fans to a gigantic fireworks display.

Gates open Sunday at 5 p.m. with qualifying scheduled for 5:10 pm. Opening ceremonies begin at 6:30 with racing to follow and FIREWORKS at dusk. The Sunday night show features a Monday night, September 4 rain date.

In addition to the 100-lap super late model finale, the night features a full program for the late models, area sportsman, Slinger bees, super beez and figure 8’s.
