Late Model Title and More on the Line in Slinger Super Speedway Finale

Sunday afternoon racing brings down curtain on 2017

(Slinger, WI) The racing season will close, Sunday afternoon, September 10, at the Slinger Super Speedway. And when the final checkered flag falls, champions will be crowned in six divisions.

Ryan Gutknecht maintains a commanding lead in the Midwest sportsman championship point standings, securing a division title that would be his second. In addition, Gutknecht holds an 86-point advantage over defending champion Kyle Chwala, in the late model standings. Winning two titles, in two divisions, in the same season would a first in the 70-year history of Slinger Speedway.

“These cars have just been a dream to drive this year,” recalls Gutknecht. “This season has been amazing. I’m so fortunate to drive both cars for this team and be in this position.”

Gates open Sunday at noon with qualifying scheduled for 12:30 pm. Opening ceremonies begin at 2:00 with racing to follow.

In addition to a full program for the late models and Midwest sportsman; area sportsman, Slinger bees, super beez and figure 8’s will also compete and crown champions. The afternoon will also feature a guest appearance by the American Super Cup machines.
