How did you get into racing?
A couple of years ago, my brother [Jake, driver of the #6 late model] found a car on Craig’s List, showed it to my dad, and we went out and bought it. I wasn’t really thinking about racing, it was Jake’s idea – he got me into racing. Last year was my first year.

Who is your favorite NASCAR (or other pro) driver?
Derek Kraus – because he likes my sister, so he’s really nice to me and gives me free hats and stuff
Chase Elliott – he’s really good at racing and he’s a good guy.

What do you like about Slinger Super Speedway?
The high banks and it’s really fast!

Who do you need to thank?
Crew: Austin Syburg, Braden Schilling, Hayden Hoppe, my dad-Jeff, my brother-Jake, my mom-Tabitha, and my sister-Ashlyn

Sponsors: Schroeder Implement (Sussex), Butler Wire, Joe Mama’s Bar & Grill (Colgate), Hollywood’s Roadhouse Bar & Grill (Nashotah), Rollin Transport (Richfield), Joe Cool Racing (Colgate), Bartlein Barrels (Jackson), Weissman Automotive (Germantown), Hillside Remodeling (Jackson). Side note: Schroeder Implement owner, Dave Schroeder, passed away but we are keeping the name to honor a great guy.

What is your favorite racing memory at Slinger?
When I got fast time for the first time! I didn’t think I was that fast, but I felt really smooth. When I got out of the car, they told me I was first in time so far!

How did you get your car number (#3)?
My brother was #6, and I’m like half of him, so I thought of #3. Plus I like Dale Earnhardt.

What is your favorite food?
Cheeseburgers from Joe Mama’s and tossed BBQ chicken wings at Hollywood’s Roadhouse

What’s next for you (racing or otherwise)?
Racing: I don’t know, maybe traveling…and getting a bigger car like a sportsman or late model
Career (Evan is 12 years old): Maybe following in my dad’s footsteps and being a truck driver, or keep going on with racing

Any scars or broken bones that have an interesting story?
A scar on my forehead – I was running, tripped, and my head stuck into a 4-wheeler spike
Collarbone – I broke it when I fell going down Little Switzerland on my bike while mountain bike racing. I did that before I started racing, but not as much since I got hurt.

Which Slinger driver (past or present) do you respect the most?
Alex Prunty – He helps my brother and I out a lot. The whole Prunty family always helps us out – they are good guys.
