10 Questions with…Andrew Meyerhofer

Driver of the #14 Sportsman
Stop by Andrew’s pit this Sunday and purchase a sticker benefitting the Ronald McDonald House!

How did you get into racing?
I shared a 4-cylinder back in 2009 with my cousin Rachel. But it’s been a family thing for longer than that. I had a couple of uncles run street stock and figure 8 in the 80s.

Why do you choose to race at Slinger Super Speedway?
We bought the Mid Am in 2018 and decided to do the weekly racing as well. The multi-lane racing is the biggest attraction

Who do you need to thank?
Crew: my dad-Dave, and Lynn for always tagging along with us and making the food; Sponsors: Fabel Repair, CARSTAR, 4M Machine, ATF Tires, Automotive Supply, MGD Industrial, Ghosttown Fitness, Kobussen Trailways

How did you get your car number (#14)?
My birthday is the 14th (today actually lol)

You have stickers all over the roof of your car…tell us about those.
So those are for donations that have been made to the Ronald McDonald house charities of Madison. I made the connection with them in undergrad and have gotten to know how much their support means to the families that stay there. We raised over $1,000 in 2015 and I thought this year would be a good time to bring it back. Hearts can be purchased for $10 with all of the proceeds going to RMHC Madison.

Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?
In February I flew by myself to Costa Rica for a week. The geography was amazing and having an active volcano right outside my hotel balcony made for a nice view to wake up to. Meeting other solo travelers from around the world was also a great experience.

What is your real job?
I’m a research analyst, focusing on energy consulting, for Tetra Tech

If you could have dinner with any three people (alive or dead, real or fictional), who would they be?
A dinner with Brett Favre, Dale Jr, and Andrew Zimmern (Bizarre Foods guy) would probably lead to endless stories

What TV show(s) are you into? “That 70s Show” is my go to.

Which Slinger driver (past or present) do you respect the most, and why?
I enjoy running with all of the Sportsman drivers but I’d go with Jake [Schraufnagel] in the 29. We’ve had quite a bit of close racing over the past year and barely ever swapped paint.
