The 2020 Slinger Super Speedway Season Nears Conclusion

Super Late Model Champion to be Crowned with 100-lap Main

(Slinger, WI) The final Sunday night of the 2020 Slinger Super Speedway season will take place, this Sunday night, September 6. The super late models will compete in a 100-lap headliner and result in the crowning of a champion.

Steve Apel has effectively claimed his fifth Slinger super late model track championship, holding a commanding 115-point lead. Slinger Super Speedway track management has promised an enhanced race purse for the super late model portion of Sunday night’s show.

“We’ve been running well all season, with only one DNF and that came at the Slinger Nationals,” said Apel. “Our goal on Sunday is to end on a high note, with a victory.”

Gates open at 5:00 pm, Sunday night with qualifying slated for 5:10. Opening ceremonies take place at 6:30 with racing to follow. A Monday, September 7 rain date has been established and features the same starting times.

Adult admission is $17.00 on Sunday night with students and seniors admitted for $9.00 and kids 6-11 paying $3. Kids five under are always admitted free. Fans can purchase their tickets in advance by visiting www.slingersuperspeedway.com

In addition to the Uptown super late models, the Sunday night card also features a full program for the late models; sportsman; Mueller’s Sales and Service Slinger Bees; one-on-one spectator racing and the Wild n’ Crazy figure-8’s. The Hooligans motorcycle exhibition race, rained out from earlier in the year, is also on tap.

The 73rd season at the venerable short-track, dubbed the World’s Fastest ¼ Mile Oval continues with afternoon affairs on September 13 and 27.
