Slinger, WI- The ‘Stars and Cars’ of the ARCA Midwest Tour will make their first ever visit to ‘World’s Fastest ¼ Mile Oval’ to battle Slinger Super Speedway’s finest Super Late Model drivers during the Miracle on the High Banks Sunday afternoon April 24, part of the 75th Miller Lite Season Opener. A pair of 30-lap Showdown features will set the stage for the Tour versus Slinger 75-lap, $5,000 to Win Finale.
“We have been working to find the right time and right event to make this a reality.” Slinger Super Speedway owner Todd Thelen stated. “Every season fans ask me when we are going to have a Tour event and the drivers started asking as well.” The season opening event for both Slinger and Tour drivers will award Championship Points for each entity, the winner is likely to leave as the point leader in both standings. “Slinger is that track that everyone associates with Wisconsin short track racing.” Added Tour Director Gregg McKarns. “It’s great to finally be able to have the Midwest Tour added to their schedule and to kick off their 75th season of racing is better yet.”
Super Late Models will be split and inverted into an even and odd Showdown Feature based on their qualifying speeds with the top ten finishers advancing to the 75-lap ‘Miracle on the High Banks’ Finale. The 24-car starting field will be completed with point provisionals from Slinger and Tour 2021 standings. Joining the Super Late Models during the one-day event are the Pro Late Models, Modifieds, Sportsman, Slinger Bees and American Super Cups contesting their feature races.
Spectator gates will open at 10am Sunday April 24 with qualifying getting underway at 12:05pm and races slated to start at 2pm. Advance discount tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for seniors (ages 62 and over) and $10 for students (ages 10-17). Race day admission prices are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and students admitted for $12, ages 9 and under are admitted free.
