Historic Series Set For 2021 Debut
(Slinger, WI) It was recently announced that the inaugural season of Tony Stewart’s SRX Series (Superstar Racing Experience) would include a stop at the World’s Fastest ¼-mile Oval. Slinger Super Speedway fan response to the Saturday evening, July 10 event has been very positive and pre-sale ticket demand has matched the enthusiasm.
Fans buying SRX pre-sale tickets through the Slinger Speedway website (www.slingersuperspeedway.com) can reserve their seat and receive a $3 discount over race-day, walk-up prices. The discount, however, ends this Sunday night, at midnight (CT).
“Working with our online ticketing partner, we’ve made available 25% of our capacity,” stated Slinger Super Speedway promoter Todd Thelen. “And those seats are going fast.”
The SRX Series is an exciting, new, racing series developed in part by NASCAR Hall of Fame members Tony Stewart and Ray Evernham. Drivers will race identically prepared, state of the art, machines at historic short tracks across America. The All-Star driver lineup includes NASCAR icons, Stewart, Bill Elliott and Bobby Labonte and Indy Car heroes Paul Tracy, Tony Kanaan and Helio Castroneves. Willy T. Ribbs and Ernie Francis, Jr will represent the sports car racing world with nine-time Formula One winner Mark Webber giving the F-1 crowd a routing interest. In addition, one to two cars will be open for track and regional racing champions to join the chase.
“With the Covid-19 situation still being fluid, we don’t know for sure, at this time, what our exact race-day capacity will be,” said Thelen. “The fan response that we’ve seen for this event has been phenomenal. If fans want to reserve their seat for the SRX and save a few bucks in the process, the time to act is now.”
Complete details of the SRX race-day format and support division racing will be announced at a later date. We do know, however, that the SRX Series will perform under the lights, in front of a prime-time television audience.
The 2021 campaign will mark the 74th season at the venerable short-track, dubbed the World’s Fastest ¼ Mile Oval. A complete season schedule will be released in the coming days.
July 2021 will be a busy time at the Slinger Super Speedway, as the track is slated to play host to the 42nd annual running of the Slinger Nationals presented by Miller Lite, Tuesday night, July 6. At this time, fans are also able to secure advanced sale tickets to the Slinger Nationals, via the track’s website.
