2020 Super Beez Rookie of the Year
How did you get into racing?
I’ve always had kind of a mechanical background and I’ve always watched a lot of racing growing up. I have a lot of friends like Jake Schraufnagel, Zach Braun, and Dale Kiley-Schaefer who race. When I came into Slinger High School and started hanging out with them, I guess that was the spark that really made me start doing it.
Who do you need to thank?
Crew: My dad, Don. We work out of a 2.5 car garage, build them and maintain them. Sponsors: Mac Paving, PPT, Inc, The Wooden Reserve, Simply Smile Dentistry, MWR Technology. Anyone else: My girlfriend-Josie, my mom-Debbie, and all my family and friends who come out to watch every week.
What is your real job?
I’m a Diesel Technician at Kreilkamp Trucking
What is your favorite racing memory at Slinger?
Probably last year after I won a Super Beez race. Rich Bickle came up to me and said what a heck of a race it was and congratulated me!
How did you get your car number (#44)?
It was my football number from when I was a little kid.
What is your favorite food?
Pizza from Angelo’s Pizzeria in Slinger with pepperoni, sausage, and black olives
What do you do to make it affordable to race?”
Obviously getting sponsors and I do side work, working on cars and dump trucks to add a little bit of extra money to it.
What TV show(s) are you into?
“Street Outlaws” (drag racing show)
What’s your plan for the 2021 racing season and beyond?
Full season in Super Beez this year, racing for a championship if possible. We’ll see how this season goes and go from there.
Which Slinger driver (past or present) do you respect the most?
Conrad Morgan. Because of how long he’s been doing it, and to see he still has the drive to do it and be successful in it.
