In addition to season-long championship points, drivers will be competing for the overall crown of the three-race Pepsi Challenge Series.

(Slinger, WI) A championship race within a championship is up this Sunday night, June 1, at the Slinger Super Speedway as the track hosts round one of the Pepsi Challenge Series for the super late models. In addition to season-long championship points, drivers will be competing for the overall crown of the three-race Pepsi Challenge Series.
In addition to being crowned the 2013 Slinger Super Speedway super late model track champion, Steve Apel has captured the last two Pepsi Challenge Series championships.
“It’s really nice for guys who are out of the track championship hunt, because they can still run for the Pepsi Challenge Series championship,” said Apel. “It gets really competitive. But once you’re a champion of any kind, they can’t take that away.”
The super late models will be joined on Sunday night by a full program for the late models, Midwest sportsman, Slinger bee’s and figure 8’s. In addition, kids 11 and under will get rides in race cars, prior to the evening’s race festivities.
Gates open Sunday night at 4:30 p.m. with qualifying scheduled for 5:00. Kid’s race car rides will begin at 6:00 with opening ceremonies set for 6:30 and racing to follow.
Fans can save money by purchasing their admission tickets in advance at B&S Liquor (Hwy 83 Hartford); Pioneer Plaza (Hwy 41 Richfield); Schaefer’s BP (Hwy 60 Slinger); Addison Station (Hwy 41 & K) or Chill-n-Fill (downtown Slinger).
