(Slinger, WI)–With school out for the summer, kids take center stage, Sunday night, June 21, at the Slinger Super Speedway as P.M.F. Landscape Supply presents Scout Night. All uniformed scouts will be admitted free on Sunday night.
They’ll witness a full program of super late model, late model, area sportsman, Heros Sandwich Shoppe Slinger bee, figure 8 and American Super Cup racing.
The scouts in attendance will have one of their own to cheer for Sunday night as Grafton high school student Matt Rose will compete in the Heros Sandwich Shoppe Slinger Bee’s. Rose is currently ranked eighth in the division’s championship standings. The 17-year-old driver is a member of Troop 840 and holds the rank of star scout.
“There are a lot of lessons that I take from scouting into the race car every week,” said Rose. “Work hard, do your best and have fun with it is how I approach scouting and racing.”
Matt’s younger brother Michael (also a boy scout) looks to make his racing debut Sunday night, competing in the American Super Cup division.
Gates open Sunday evening at 4:45 p.m. with qualifying at 5:00. Opening ceremonies are set for 6:30 with racing to follow.
