The 199-lap Nationals is scheduled for Tuesday night, July 14th and offers a rain date of July 15th.
The Edgerton, Wisconsin driver is a four-time winner of the prestigious Slinger Nationals, claiming the event most recently in 2013. Bickle, 54 years-old, spent 2014 away from stock car racing, focusing his attention on other business ventures. Bickle, however, dusted off his driver’s suit in recent weeks and hasn’t missed a beat.
In addition to being a four-time winner of the Slinger Nationals, Bickle has 218 career starts in NASCAR’s national touring divisions, including three wins in the Camping World Truck Series. He is a five-time winner of Florida’s Snowball Derby and a two-time Slinger super late model track champion.
Another recent entry to Tuesday’s Slinger Nationals comes from the other end of the racing spectrum. Dirt late model standout Bobby Pierce will make his Slinger Speedway debut behind the wheel of a second Rob Braun entry.
The eighteen year-old Pierce is the 2014 UMP DIRTCAR Late Model National Champion and the current DIRTCAR Summer Nationals point leader. The Summer Nationals is a tour that competes 30 times across 32 days and nine states. Pierce has two career pavement starts to his resume, having competed earlier this year at New Smyrna, Florida’s World Series of Asphalt. He is scheduled to make his NASCAR debut later this month when the Camping World Truck Series visits Eldora (OH) Speedway.
Spectator gates open at noon, on Tuesday. The afternoon will feature alternating practice sessions for the super late models and late models. Qualifying is slated for 4:00 p.m. with opening ceremonies at 6:20. The green flag for the Slinger Nationals is on tap for 8:14.
Tickets for the SuperSeal Slinger Nationals presented by Miller Lite are now on sale at the track office. An advance sale ticket purchase affords fans a five dollar savings over race-day general admission.
