Ty Majeski powered from fifth to victory, using the high groove to pass Alex Prunty midway and dominate late in the ASA Midwest Tour Jerry Priesgen Memorial 100 at Slinger Speedway’s 2026 season opener, with Grant Griesbach second and Casey Johnson edging Luke Fenhaus for third.
Slinger, Wis., April 26—Ty Majeski used the outside groove to grab the lead from Alex Prunty near the halfway mark and drove to victory in the ASA Midwest Tour Jerry Priesgen Memorial 100 Sunday afternoon as the Slinger Speedway opened its 79th season of racing.
Majeski started from the fifth position and worked his way into third place during the opening laps behind front row starters Grant Griesbach and Alex Prunty. Griesbach handily led the first 36 laps before the one and only caution flag of the race flew when Dennis Prunty slid sideways off turn two while battling with Austin Nason. On the restart, both Alex Prunty and Majeski chose the outside lane at the lane choice symbol and that proved beneficial as Prunty charged around Griesbach who chose the bottom lane, for the lead, bringing Majeski along with him into second. Majeski stalked Prunty for the next 14 laps before rocketing around Prunty on the high side to take command of the race. Griesbach was able to move past Prunty for second while Casey Johnson and Luke Fenhaus advanced to battle Prunty for third. Johnson and Fenhaus were able to move by Prunty and the two battled side by side for third as the laps wound down with Majeski holding a comfortable lead over Griesbach. Majeski was unchallenged over the final circuits and he drove to the victory while Griesbach took the checkered flag in second. Casey Johnson prevailed in the battle with Luke Fenhaus to finish third as Fenhaus dropped back with a flat tire on the final lap. Alex Prunty finished in fourth place while Derek Kraus was fifth. Gabe Sommers crossed the finish line in sixth place while John DeAngelis and Levon VanDerGeest were seventh and eighth respectively. The tire issue dropped Fenhaus to a ninth place result while Ty Fredrickson finished tenth after advancing through the last chance race.
