DENNIS PRUNTY TOPS MEMORIAL GO KART NIGHT AT SLINGER
Dennis Prunty won the Uptown Motor Cars Late Model feature at Slinger Speedway on Memorial Go Kart Night, beating Evan Hassler and Jon Reynolds Jr. Other winners included Eddie Dabroski (the Crown Vics), Al Strobel (the Slinger Bees), Lincoln Johnson (Legends), and Harley Johnson (Bandoleros).
Slinger, Wis., Aug 16—Dennis Prunty put Chris Ratajczyk’s car in victory lane at the Slinger Speedway Sunday night as he drove to the win in the 50-lap Uptown Motor Cars Late Model feature on Memorial Go Kart Night.
Prunty took the lead from Billy Braun near the halfway mark with an aggressive move in lapped traffic and then bested Evan Hassler in a spirited battle for the victory. Jon Reynolds Jr. finished third.
“This is Chris Ratajczyk’s car and he’s been feeling a little down in the dumps so I told him I would get him a win,” Prunty told the crowd from victory lane, “It was good to race clean in front of the kids on Go-Kart Night, that’s how you’re supposed to do it.”
“We had a good run tonight and I let Dennis win because Rat (Chris Ratajczyk) threatened to beat me with a stick if I put a mark on his car,” Hassler joked afterwards, “That was some old school side by side racing, we didn’t touch, we didn’t rub we didn’t do nothing, we just ran clean and we ran hard.”
“We finally got ourselves up here, it’s been a lot of hard work figuring this tire out, Reynolds stated after his third-place finish, “We’ll just keep doing what we are doing and hopefully get a win before the season ends.”
Zach Prunty finished in the fourth position and Tom Berens took the checkered flag in fifth place. Ryan Gutknecht was sixth and Ryan Weyer finished seventh ahead of Mitch DelCamp in eighth. Mike Held was ninth and Jerry Mueller was tenth.
Late Model heat race wins went to Jerry Mueller and Dennis Prunty while Mike Held won the fast dash. Zach Prunty was the fastest qualifier after posting a lap time of 12.014 seconds.
Eddie Dabroski captured his first feature victory in the 189 Customs Crown Vic 25-lap main event. Bobby Frisch finished in second followed by Elliott Rehm in third and Ethan Degner in fourth. Matthew Rose was fifth. Eddie Dabroski also won the Crown Vic heat race.
Al Strobel was the winner of the 25-lap Finish Line Bar and Grill Slinger Bees feature over Travis Kreuser and Carl Benn. Ricky Gebhardt finished fourth and Mason Wilcott was fifth. Matthew Wandrey scored his first career Singer Bees victory in the first heat race while Carl Benn won the second heat race. Nick Schmidt was the fastest qualifier after he set a new track qualifying record with a lap time of 15.002 seconds.
Lincoln Johnson was the winner of the Great North Legends 25-lap feature as he crossed the finish line ahead of Lincoln Cain and Carter Stein. Justice Doubrava finished in fourth place and Art Hahn was fifth. Mark Wellman and Dirk Henry were the winners of the Great North Legends heat races and Ayrton Brockhouse was the fastest qualifier after posting a lap time of 13.125 seconds. Lincoln Cain’s second place finish clinched the 2026 Slinger Speedway Track Championship for the Great North Legends division.
Harley Johnson edged Oliver Weinkauf to win the 20-lap Johnson and Sons Paving Bandolero main event. The two split lapped traffic in the final turn on the final lap before Johnson beat Weinkauf to the line in a photo finish. Christopher Flynn and Hunter Graham finished third and fourth respectively while Emily Billings finished fifth. Bandolero heat races were won by Allison Brelje and Jaxxton Jump while Oliver Weinkauf recovered from an incident in practice to nail down fast qualifier honors with a lap time of 14.294 seconds. While Weinkauf just missed out on the feature win he did clinch the 2026 Slinger Speedway Track Championship for the Bandolero division.
