FENHAUS TOPS THE ALAN KULWICKI MEMORIAL AT SLINGER

Slinger, Wis., Aug 30—Luke Fenhaus took command of the 77-lap Alan Kulwicki Memorial Incredible Bank super late model feature on lap 39 and drove to a two second victory over Ty Majeski Sunday night at the Slinger Speedway.

It was the third super late model feature checkered flag for Fenhaus this season while Majeski’s second place result made him the overall winner in the Zebra Cards Triple Crown Series for the division.

“That was a fun one,” Fenhaus exclaimed from victory lane, “It was just a good car. I didn’t think we had kind of our normal balance that we had in practice and we kind of made some tunes on it and fixed some things, hurt some things, then kind of just played it by ear. The team did a great job.”

“This one means a lot,” Fenhaus continued, “Ty (Majeski) was good to tonight and it feels good to finally beat him when he’s good. It’s cool every time you win at Slinger but to do it in this fashion with it being the Alan Kulwicki Memorial it was cool to do it for Alan.”

“It was a sold showing,” Ty Majeski stated after his second-place finish, “We just struggled all day and this was probably one of the worse cars I had here but it was still good to be competitive and mix it up with Luke (Fenhaus) a little bit. They were quite a bit better than us tonight that’s for sure.”

Defending track champion Grant Griesbach led the opening 38 laps before having to settle for third at the checkered flag.

“I definitely didn’t need that caution,” Griesbach said after referring to the only caution of the event that waved on lap 34 when the powerplant in Alex Prunty’s car expired in turn four sending cars scattering behind him,” I thought I had a big enough lead to maybe hold on but the 4 (Fenhaus) was coming and he was running us down two-tenths a lap. It’s been a long time since we got a win here but I’ll take a third place because it’s been since April that I’ve been on this podium. We’ll take the good run and hopefully contend for a win next week.”

R.J. Braun completed one if his best runs of the season by finishing in the fourth position and current Slinger Speedway championship point leader Gabe Sommers was fifth. Steve Apel finished in the sixth position followed by Mitch Haver and Dennis Prunty in seventh and eighth respectively. Brad Mueller and Jeff Storm rounded out the top ten finishers.

Steve Apel won the super late model fast dash while super late model heat race victories were recorded by Conrad Morgan and Dennis Prunty. Morgan’s heat race win was extremely popular as he is scheduled to retire after next Sunday’s races to wrap up an illustrious sixty-year career. Luke Fenhaus was the fastest qualifier after turning in a blistering lap at 11.135 seconds.

John DeAngelis Jr. won the 30-lap Raceway Bar and Grill 602 Crater main event over Dan Thomson and Danny Church Jr. Lincoln Johnson made his 602 Crater debut with a fourth-place finish while Larry Johnson was fifth. Dan Thomson won the 602 Crater heat race and John DeAngelis Jr. was the fastest qualifier with a lap time of 12.144 seconds.

Brady Held won the 30-lap Bobcat Plus Sportsman feature over Jay Kalbus to secure the 2026 Slinger Speedway Track Championship for the division. Josh Fehrman finished third and Dale Lecus overcame mechanical issues earlier in the evening to finish fourth in the main event. Greg Beebe finished fifth. John Fehrman won the Sportsman heat race and Brad Held set fast time with a qualifying lap of 12.861 seconds.

Josh Rusch held off Merek Pankow to win the 25-lap Outdoor Dock and Lift Super Beez feature. Paul Reagles finished third and Misty Benn was fourth followed by Morgan Zerwinski in fifth. Super Beez heat races were won by Josh Tanguay and Nick Schmidt while Josh Rusch was the fastest qualifier with a lap time of 13.451 seconds.

Eddie Dabroski scored his second feature win of the season in the 25-lap 189 Customs Crown Vic main event. Elliott Rehm finished in second followed by Ethan Degner in third and Matthew Rose in fourth. Ricky Young finished fifth. Matt Torphy and Bobby Frisch were the winners of the Crown Vic heat races.
