BILDERBACK EDGES RIDDLE IN A THRILLING GOOD BOY VODKA 75 AT SLINGER

Michael Bilderback secured a thrilling photo finish victory over Zack Riddle by just .061 seconds in the Uptown Motor Cars Late Model feature at Slinger Speedway. The Sunday night action also saw wins for Carl Benn, John DeAngelis, Ayrton Brockhouse, and Oliver Weinkauf in other racing divisions.

BILDERBACK EDGES RIDDLE IN A THRILLING GOOD BOY VODKA 75 AT SLINGER

Slinger, Wis., June 28—Michael Bilderback and Zack Riddle staged a classic side-by-side short track battle over the final five laps of the 75-lap Uptown Motor Cars Late Model feature Sunday night at the Slinger Speedway before Bilderback edged Riddle for the victory in a photo finish. Bilderback’s margin of victory was a scant .061 seconds as he and Riddle crossed under the checkered flag nearly even.

“I’m still shaking,” Bilderback exclaimed from victory lane, “These guys are good here and this is the second time we’ve showed up this year so to be able to bang doors with these guys, I’m still catching my breath.”

“Hats off to Zack (Riddle),”Bilderback continues, “we rubbed but man that was fun and that was racing. There ain’t no hard feelings and I expect him to do that and I would do it back to him. We’ve raced a long time together and have always been good friends and have raced respectfully.

“We were just one spot short but I’m glad we were able to put on a show.” Zack Riddle said following his runner-up finish, “Me and Mike (Bilderback) have had a handful of back and fourths and that’s how it goes, he gets me and I get him and he got away on this one.”

Zach Prunty advanced his way from the seventh starting position to finish a strong third, right behind the lead duo, while early leader Dennis Prunty finished fourth just ahead of Tom Berens in fifth. Jon Reynolds Jr crossed the finish line in the sixth position followed by Tyler Hromadka and J.J. Vanderloop in seventh and eighth respectively. Jerry Mueller and T.J. Graczkowski completed the top ten finishers.

Mike Held won the Late Model semi-feature over Mitch Delcamp and T.J. Graczkowski while Mike Egan held off Jerry Eckhardt for the fourth and final transfer position. Late Model heat races were won by T.J. Graczkowski and J.J. Vanderloop while Tom Berens won the fast dash. Zack Riddle set fast time in qualifying with a lap time of 11.804 seconds.

Carl Benn won the 25-lap Finish Line Bar and Grill Slinger Bees feature over Nathan Lemberger and Marty Tackes. Al Strobel finished fourth ahead of Mason Wilcott in fifth as the event marked the first leg of the Twin Bee Challenge on the season. Al Strobel and Nathan Lemberger were the winners of the Slinger Bees heat races while Marty Tackes was the fastest qualifier with a lap time of 15.073 seconds.

John DeAngelis won the 25-lap Raceway Bar and Grill 602 Crater division feature over Dan Thomson, Danny Church, and Larry Johnson. Dan Thomson won the 602 Crater heat race and John DeAngelis turned in a qualifying lap at 12.804 seconds to take top time honors.

Ayrton Brockhouse scored the victory in the 25-lap Great North Legends main event. Lincoln Cain finished second and Lincoln Johnson was third. Kooper Heintz and Carter Stein rounded out the top five finishers in fourth and fifth respectively. Great North Legends heat race victories were captured by Kooper Heintz and Lincoln Johnson while Lincoln Cain was the fastest qualifier with a lap time of 13.302 seconds.

Oliver Weinkauf won the 20-lap Johnson and Sons Paving Bandolero feature over Emily Billings and Axel Oldenhoff. Christopher Flynn was fourth and Ace Oldenhoff was fifth. Hunter Graham won the first Bandolero heat race and Emily Billings won the second heat race. Oliver Weinkauf was the fastest qualifier after posting a qualifying lap time of 14.260 seconds.
